The 44th Annual District Governor's Golf Outing

Blue skies crowned the green, freshly mowed hills at the Lakes of Taylor Golf Course. September 8, 2025, was a day full of sunshine, cool air, and vivid colors. There was a high level of excitement as this year’s District 6400 Golf event was full of new features and players. As golfers entered the lobby, they were greeted by smiling volunteers, coffee, and a continental breakfast.

Special thanks to Tammy Bonifield, who assembled auction packages and crafted an artistic display of these items to bid on. As part of the festivities. There was a raffle for these items or a chance to win a 50/50 monetary prize.

Over 79 players assembled for a shotgun start. Each of the foursomes was diligently studying their maps, designating their place to begin playing, while Wayne Kinney from the Livonia AM Rotary Club was capturing their happy faces on a mobile photo booth. District Governor Linda Morrow visited all of the players on the course, and photos were taken of each group.

There were 15 Rotary Clubs participating and 2 groups of family and friends. Lunch was provided at the turning point of the course. New this year was a putting contest sponsored by the Rotary Club of Livonia (noon). There were over 62 hole sponsors, their signs dancing in the breeze.

Following the day of golf was a special banquet called “The 19th Hole Fore Fest.” At the dinner, a live auction was held, and Wayne Kinney from Rock Out Entertainment moved from taking photos to MC for announcements and music. The day allowed the players to have a fun time and form new friendships.
