UPS Stores Support Children's Literacy

Club member, Eric Ladwig, in conjunction with Rotary's goal for 2021-2022 of improving diversity and inclusion, facilitated a book reading and signing of Dr. Erica Roberson's book, The Adventures of a Little Black Detroit Girl -HOMECOMING. The event was held at Clarenceville High School. Eric, along with Mayor Brosnan, and three local high school students, read excerpts from the book followed by a book signing by Dr. Robertson. Through his efforts as president of the Metro Detroit UPS Store Advertising Co-Op, Eric was able to leverage the purchase of thousand of Dr. Roberson's book with funds from the Toys For Tots Literacy Program sponsored by donations made by customers at local UPS Stores. The books were distributed to local area high schools.
