District Governor Elect Kim Spirou announced the great pollinator challenge and encourages each club in D6400 create or expand on an existing pollinator garden during her term. This is part of the District Action Group initiative which is a refined version of PDG Noel Jackson’s initiative to have a district level version of Rotary Action Groups serving the seven areas of Rotary international’s focus.
Erin H. Dobbins, the representing USA, and Debra Harshaw representing Canada, our cochairs of the environmental DAG. The Eco club at Schoolcraft College has been working with councilmember Carrie Budzinski and plan to rejuvenate the pollinator garden at Clement Circle, Park. Steve Alexander lives in the neighborhood and is helping coordinate the project. This will not replace our club’s overall environmental focus on Sibley Prairie. Please reach out to Erin or Tammy if you would like to help in the garden.
