Today’s speaker was Chris Matus, currently serving as DTE Energy Principal Program Manager for Community Engagement. Chris shared the current and future focus of DTE: to make energy more affordable, more efficient, more clean, and more reliable.

Chris presented a slide show of data supporting DTE’s current position in those areas and where they hope to be by 2029. Improvements are focused on reducing outages by 30%, and fewer minutes of outages by 50%. To achieve this DTE is aware that they need to build stronger poles to withstand wind and that tree trimming needs to be more consistent. DTE hopes to eliminate the use of coal by 2032.
