Our club our meeting opened with the Pledge of Allegiance, followed by an Invocation by Bob Carris. We had 13 members in attendance, plus one by Zoom and one prospective member, Peter Dale.
Peter has lived in Livonia since 1965. He owned three record stores. For the last several years, Peter has been "Mr. Volunteer." He is also a Quaker and member of the Livonia Historical Society. He is an early riser, which drew him to our club. Welcome Peter!
Happy Bucks were collected, most were for the awesome job our club did getting awards and manning the hospitality suite at the convention.
Our Club won the overall Dick Hedke Award. We had won parts of the award in the past, but not the whole award. Congratulations Livonia A.M. Rotary!! Be sure to see the huge bell that is engraved with our club name. The bell comes with a wooden box that is made from 6 different wood species, representing the continents where Rortary is present. This award is the highest award given in the District 6400.
Our club also won the Jennifer Jones Award for Inclusion.
Our president, Nancy Darga, was congratulated by the club for the fantastic job telling the members at the convention what it was like living with polio.
Sharon Pommerville received recognition for getting the Paul Harris + 6 for donation $7,000 lifetime giving. Tammy Bonifield reached the Major Donor level. Congratulations to these two members.
